Stivers was the selling dealer for my new 2014 Forester and although there were a few small glitches that were remedied fairly quickly, it was worth the one-way rental car fee and the seven hour drive to save $1500 on the extended warranty and $2200 on the sticker price versus local dealers. But it's the Parts Department I have to brag about. Even when we were overseas, the staff would help me figure out which parts I needed and would remind me to get a better price by using the parts numbers and their online store. And today Cory proved again how great Stivers employees are in the Parts Department. My local dealer was getting ready to charge a heck of a lot for an unknown repair of the CVT shift/parking brake doodads to fix a problem that resulted in being unable to remove the key from the ignition. So I decided to use my good and honest independent mechanic and buy the parts myself. Surprise! Cory reminded me that one of the letters I'd received from Subaru last year was a warranty extension through 10/31/22 for this exact problem! What a guy! Best news I've had all year. And if I ever trade this Forester in (163K miles, new paint, new leather seats and better than new), I'm going back to Stivers.
